Philippe Starck pays homage to three contemporary design icons and through a fusion of styles creates a "stylistic summation" -the Masters chair. Re-interpreted in a space age key, the Series 7 by Arne Jacobsen, the Tulip Armchair by Eero Saarinen and the Eiffel Chair by Charles Earnes weave into a most engaging and sinuous hybrid. Standing on four slim legs, the Masters chair is roomy and comfortable. The back of the chair is its most fascinating feature characterized by the fullness and empty spaces created by the curvaceous crisscrossing lines of three different backs which descend to merge into the edge of the seat.

Panier was the first object to be signed by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec for Kartell. Rigorous technical and functional research resulted in a container basket in a simple but very communicative shape. It is comprised of four modules to form the four quarters of a shiny, transparent circle bursting into rays of light. The quarters are attached to each other using opaque joints and stability is achieved simply by using inserts. Panier is a container which can be closed on one side with a transparent lid in polycarbonate and can easily be used as an end table or as a magazine rack.
