Design Ernesto Gismondi, 2008 Spun aluminum, stainless steel, polycarbonate Made in Italy by Artemide The Nur lamp is a series of luminaires in various sizes, colors and lighting options. The Nur ceiling lamp offers direct halogen or fluorescent lighting with subtle indirect lighting creating a halo on the ceiling. It features a deep dome shaped body/diffuser in spun aluminum, available in charcoal grey or natural anodized aluminum finish. Polycarbonate diffuser encased in body to diffuse lamps. Mounts to standard electrical junction boxes. Gismondi has played a significant role in progressive design circles. An Italian designer and engineer, he previously studied aeronautical & aerospace studies in Milan. He co-founded Artemide with Sergio Mazza in 1959 and designed a variety of lights. It has been generated totally by digital means and freezes in time the act of ripples that cross each other to define reflective zones and acts as a form of liquid dichroic." - Ross Lovegrove The Droplet ceiling or wall (mini only) features indirect halogen lighting with a glossy grey, die-cast aluminum disc with reflective units (pebbles) and stem in die-cast aluminum polished chrome finish. Mounts over standard electrical junction boxes. Mini version includes only one reflective unit (pebble). Ross Lovegrove studied design at Manchester Polytechnic and subsequently trained at the Royal College of Art in London. the mikado wall/ceiling lamp from artemide was designed by f.a. porsche between 1988 and 1992. designed for low voltage halogen spotlighting, this curious lamp features a rotatable body which is made from die-cast aluminum with metallic light grey lacquer finish, and a rim in matte black lacquered steel. the curved supporting arms and extension rods are of chromed steel. the mikado mr/rt is mountable to a standard 4" octagonal junction boxand requires a remote low voltage (12V) transformer installation. the mikado mr/it is also mountable to a standard 4" octagonal junction boxbut the low voltage transformer (120/12V) is incorporated into the lamp, all models are UL approved.
